Garden Design
Now based in Exeter, Paul has many years experience designing and developing beautiful gardens for discerning clients; both here in Devon and also in London.
A well-designed garden will connect easily with the rest of your home and extend your living space. Creating a balanced garden that meets all your needs in terms of function and beauty. Good design will ensure that your garden has a style in keeping with the character of your property. Most importantly, good design will give you a garden that works for you.
Design Process
Consultation
The design process begins with a Consultation visit to your property to discuss all your plans and ideas for your garden. This meeting will help form the Brief for further Garden Design Plans.
Survey & Brief
Before producing any design plans a Survey of the existing garden will need to be carried out. Together with the agreed Brief, the Survey forms the basis of the Detailed Design Plan.
Detailed Design Plan
The Detailed Design Plan will illustrate the new layout of the garden. Once this layout has been agreed we can then focus in more detail on the specific plants and materials proposed.
Construction Drawings
Construction Drawings show the dimensions and materials required for each major item. Together with the Specification Document this forms part of the contract with the Landscaper.
Specification Documents
The Specification details all items to be built as part of the landscaping. All listed with materials and build details. With general requirements for site conduct and the standard of work required.
Landscaping
Tender Process
Typically, two to three landscapers are invited to tender for the landscaping work. Paul can help manage this and provide all the necessary tender documentation.
This process helps with accurate quotations for the project and forms the contract between the client and contractor. And reduces the possibility of misunderstandings between parties.
Monitoring Service
Once a landscape contractor has been chosen Paul is then able to monitor the project. With regular site visits and continuing contact with all parties for the duration of the build.
Planting
Planting Plan
The Planting Plan shows the position of each plant within the new scheme. With the plan agreed Paul can produce an estimate for sourcing the plants and planting up the new garden.
Planting the Garden
Delivery of plants will be scheduled to fit in soon after the completion of all the landscaping work. The Planting up of the garden can then take place very shortly afterwards.
